BigGreenSmile’s fight against plastic

A key topic on everyone’s mind at the moment is plastic packaging and how it can be reduced or eliminated altogether. So, what are we doing to tackle this issue?

Plastic free products

We encourage suppliers to minimise use of plastic and when reviewing new product lines prioritise those that contain no plastic all.

Plastic free wipes

We have discontinued all baby and facial wipes that contain plastic and are looking for a completely plastic-free option.

Plastic free packaging

Plastic packaging received from suppliers with our deliveries is put straight into dedicated recycling bins that are situated around our warehouse. The pellets we use to protect your goods in orders are made from starch that is 100% biodegradable. The pellets offer great protection, ensuring products reach you in perfect condition. The boxes we use are plastic free and we use paper tape with zero plastic in it to secure your boxes.

Big Green Smile have a range of ethical products. From make-up and beauty products to natural cleaners and baby care.

About Me
I think like many others I've been conscious of the impact we're having on our planet for many years now.
We see images of ice caps melting.
Of our oceans been swamped by plastic and the devastation this is having on our wildlife.
We see people surviving on very little, with no real income.
We see rain forests being depleted at an alarming rate.
I felt in my own small way I needed to start taking action.
I started looking for recycled products and ethically produced products on the internet.
I always take re-usable shopping bags in my handbag. You can get ones that squash up into tiny spaces, so they don't take much room.
I take my own small bags to the greengrocers for produce.
These are just a few of the small steps I've taken.
